Synopsis

The Thirty-Nine Steps is an adventure packed political crime novel which introduced John Buchan's action hero Richard Hannay as its protagonist. Greek Premier Karolides's life is under threat from German anarchists Black Stone. Freelance spy Franklin P. Scudder who wants to expose the plot, finds a temporary shelter at Hannay's home. Unexpected death of Franklin at his home throws Hannay to jump into action to prove his innocence and save Premier's life.
