Synopsis

Joseph Conrad moves away from his array of sea fiction novels with The Secret Agent, which narrates the story of spy, who ruins his family life in an attempt to prove his capabilities as a spy. Mr. Verloc, a secret agent is in danger of losing his job under tremendous pressure from his superior Mr. Vladimir. Meanwhile a science laboratory is exploded and a man's body found in unidentifiable conditions. Mr. Verloc is convicted for the conspiracy and confessing to his wife Winnie, that he exploited his brother-in-law for the crime. Unable to bear the death of her brother, she stabs her husband and commits suicide.
