Synopsis

Though Stephen Crane's The Red Badge of Courage is a novel based on American Civil War, it portrays the psychology of soldiers instead of glory of the war. The protagonist Henry Fleming believes he is not brave enough to be a soldier. He tries to flee-away from the battlefield and has been interrupted by a wounded soldier who handover a letter addressed to his family. He returns to regiment thinking no one is aware of his escaping attempt. His psychological barrier gets broken and he started fight like a brave soldier, when the commander was about to sacrifice their regiment for cowardliness.
