Synopsis

The Jungle is a political fiction novel written by American novelist Upton Sinclair, which exposed the exploitation of Immigrants to America and health violations in the metapacking industry. This novel narrates the story of  Jurgis Rudkus, an immigrant from Lithuania looking for better living conditions in Chicago ends up spending his whole life in poverty and hopeless conditions. An accidental injury at work made him to lose his job which result in his whole family including aged parents and children ought to work to survive. His wife Ona has been sexually harassed by her employer and the angry Rudkus attacks the employer and imprisoned. After released from jail his life still worsens with incidents of his wife's death during pregnancy and his daughter dies drowning in a muddy street.
