Synopsis
Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson is the first captivity narrative published by a women Mary White Rowlandson, who had to spend one year of her life as captive along with her three children. During King Philip's war a group of Native Indians attacked Lancaster town and captivated about 26 people including Rowlandson. During the attack Rowlandson and her youngest daughter Sara wounded. While Sara was allowed to stay with her mother, other children were seperated. Rowlandson was getting indifferent treatment from the captivators and her knitting skills did give fair advantage over other captives. After eleven months of horror, Rowlandson was freed and her other children some times later. However Sara died at the Captives camp itself.Similar Bookshelves
