Synopsis

One of his own favorite works Wells' social novel Kipps: The Story of a Simple Soul narrates a simple man inability to live in a society in which he was not groomed. Young orphan Arthur Kipps raised by his aunt befriends with neighborhood boy Sid and eventually falls in love with his sister Ann. An unexpected possession of huge money changes his childhood love and he longs for Helen, who is fond of his wealth rather than his love. Kipps unable to change himself to accustomed with upper class society and moves towards his old love. Meanwhile his wealth is lost by speculative trade by Helen's brother which makes Kipps more comfortable. Though his wealth was regained by one of his investments, this time he does not want to go back the haunted life of upper class.
