Synopsis
Published during Stalin period, Ayn Rand's dystopian fiction Anthem explores the critical aspects of socialist thinking. Centuries later the world enters a dark age, where individuality is banned and only equality rules. The word "I" is removed from dictionary and Government decides the work for everyone. Having Family and friends are crime, and inventions are banned. People were named by numbers such as Equality 7-2521 (Man) , Liberty 5-3000 Girl) and International 4-8818 (Artist).
