Synopsis

Dickens travel account to America and Canada as a foreign observer through his non-fiction work American Notes for Circulation explores his views on the then American Society. Though Dickens had criticized the English society, his views on American Society did hurt the Americans as it was too narrowly targeted. Dickens did write the American Society was below the British Society in many aspects. However his observations were accepted by many scholars as very much right.
